Lourdes is an amateur photographer from Puerto Rico who was traveling to the Greek islands this August. She was never in any pictures, and was looking to find a photographer in Santorini, to do some outdoor portraits of her, to have a really memorable trip souvenir. She wanted something natural, not posing etc. – She did not want the photographs to be about her, but more about her in Santorini.

Santorini Honeymoon Photo Session
Sometimes you meet people for the first time and you just feel this warm feeling as if they are good old friends with you. That’s exactly what it was like when I first met Meric and Artemis, a just married Turkish couple. I immediately connected very well with the both of them. The couple was just married in Turkey and hired me for a photo shooting to get some high quality pictures of their vacation in Santorini.
Our photo walk in Oia was in a very friendly and relaxed way, viewing was brilliant, the weather almost perfect and of course a handsome man and a stunning woman in her wedding dress.
For more shots of honeymoon photo sessions please see my website ’s specific section.
Pre wedding photo shoot and marriage proposal
Brian from Hong Kong arranged a 7 days trip with Tracy, his Fiancée to Greece and they stayed in Santorini for 3 days. He also arranged a surprise pre-wedding photography session and booked our golden package service. However, as everything was a surprise, his Fiancée had no preparation for dresses and make-up. According to Brian, Tracy would love to have a more formal dress plus a wedding dress for the photo shoot. Brian prepared his black suit in Hong Kong and Tracy’s dress was chosen in the shop I brought them to. I also arranged the make-up and hair style for Tracy and ordered a flower bouquet in purple (Tracy’s favorite color) for the photo session.
We went to the beauty shops to prepare in the morning and we started the photo session from mid-afternoon to sunset. The day before the session Brian asked his Fiancée to marry him. So, he re – proposed marriage in front of the camera the next day during the session.
Anniversary Photo Shoot of Miral and Karim
It is always a pleasure to photograph weddings, engagement shoots, etc, but it is also very nice to be asked to photograph a one year anniversary. Karim loves his wife and for their first anniversary he got creative. I received an email from him about a month ago saying he would like to surprise his wife with a photo shoot!
The couple wanted to be just like an engagement photo – shoot and since it was their first anniversary, they wanted some romantic memorable pictures. We had some fun, tried out some different locations and had some great conversation along the way.
The next day I met them at the reception of the Hotel where they were staying to give them the pictures burnt on DVDs. I always bring my laptop with me so we can also have a quick look of the images. I always give 2 DVDs to my clients. One with all the untouched pictures and one with the edited files (black and white, sepia, etc).
I would also like to thank Karim and Miral for being an amazing couple to photograph, so made for each other and for being so relaxed during the day.
One year on and I wish many more to go!
Romantic photo shoot of Brad and Kathryn in Santorini
When shooting a couple’s romantic photo – shoot, it all comes down to creating an authentic (looking) image of two people in love. The most important goals are making their romance believable and creating an authentic (looking) image of the two people in love. Brad contacted me and asked me to take around 10 romantic pictures in color and black & white of him and his wife, Kathryn.
Together we walked along the edge of the cliff, finding one amazing location after another for some incredibly romantic portraits. Thanks Brad & Kathryn for being such a great couple and for making my photos shine!!
Civil Wedding in Andromeda Gold Suites Hotel in Imerovigli and next day shoot in Oia
Jumana and Stelios got married in Andromeda Gold Suites, a luxury hotel located in Imerovigli village. The hotel offers majestic views to the Caldera and the rock of Skaros, which used to be the capital of Santorini island till the 18th century.
The couple lives and works in Dubai, but Stelios is Greek, so they decided to marry in Santorini. I arrived at the hotel about 2 hours prior the ceremony to capture some pre – wedding pictures of the couple in their room and outside the hotel. During their preparation I took some photos of their families and guests who had been already waiting patiently for the ceremony to begin.
After the ceremony and before the reception, we couldn’t miss out on the chance to take some photos in the area during sunset time. The next day, we went to Oia village to complete the session.
Wedding of Claire and Alan at Suites of Gods Venue
Claire and Alan, an English couple booked for 1 hour my photography services and hair (including trial) for the bride and her mother.
A few days before the ceremony, I met the couple at Al Greco Hotel where they were staying, not only to give them the opportunity to talk through their last minute requirements but also to give them time to feel more comfortable with the photographer. Claire asked me also to take some pre wedding shots of the preparations at their hotel with her family, the bridesmaids, and friends.
The ceremony took place at the Suites of Gods wedding venue. It is a breathtaking spa hotel, located at Megalochori Village and facing the Caldera with stunning panoramic views.
Alan arrived earlier at the venue, he was not very anxious, although Claire was late a little bit.
Pre Wedding tour and a photo stop at Atlantis Books in Oia
I have been a pre-wedding photographer in Santorini for more than 10 years. This session around the island lasted about 8 hours and is one of the longest I have ever done in one day! Sharon and Bio from Hong Kong, booked the shoot 7 months in advance and got a discount for my services.
We started the session from their hotel where we took the first photos. The hotel name is Iliovasilema, located at the cliffs of the caldera in Imerovigli village.  We drove the whole island and visited so many different locations such as windmills, abandoned buildings, fields,  blue dome churches, Firostefani village, caldera cliffs, and of course Oia village. Sharon prepared three cloths for all shooting and changed all of them.
The highlight of the shoot was a stop at the world famous Atlantis Books in Oia. Sharon and Bio asked to arrange a shoot at this bookstore, which selected as the best book store in the world according to the guardian.
2 Hours Session in Oia Village
This lovely couple from Portugal came to Santorini island for a honeymoon and to have beautiful photographs taken on our paradise island. Joanna is a doctor and Pedro is a nurse. They were first met at the hospital where they had been working and immediately fell in love with each other.
Joana found me through my facebook photography page, when she had already arrived in the island and was looking for a photographer. She was looking for a professional who can create awesome santorini photos that are natural and candid – yet with an artistic touch.
Although it was a last minute booking request, I was available for that day to do the photo shoot. I meet them at their hotel and drove straight to Oia village for a 2 hours session. Here are some of the images that I like.
Wonderful Photography Tour with Michelle
Michelle Ou works on Marketing and currently is working for a global FMCG company as an International Graduate Trainee. She is also a great amateur photographer, here is her blog: http://michellezilingou.blogspot.com/Â She is living in Australia at the moment, but she is moving to Hong Kong soon.
As a photographer she was always behind the camera and very rarely in front of it. Santorini was always a dream for her and she wanted some portrait pictures of her. She asked me to visit the most beautiful places of the island, not only the tourist ones.
Together we spent more than 6 hours of touring around Santorini and taking photographs. At the end of the day, we were very exhausted but also very happy with the results. Here are some pictures of Michele.
If you wish to hire me as a photographer, to take some unique, fairytale photos do not hesitate to contact me at info@santorini-photographer.com and discuss your plans and ideas.
