What is Trash the Dress photography?
Also known as bridal glamor session, fearless bridal or rock the frock, it is not so much destruction as liberation! A Trash the Dress photography is an idea that originated in United States but works brilliantly in Santorini because of the beautiful and unique geographic locations available to us. It involves wearing your wedding dress once again and taking part in a high fashion-style photography shoot in unusual, non-wedding type places. Brides “trash their dress” usually on a beach, but other locations include city streets, rooftops, garbage dumps, fields, abandoned buildings and other crazy places.
Will my dress be completely destroyed?
You can get a little dirty or a lot dirty. It’s up to you. But you’ll have some wonderful photos to show for it.
Please note that trash the Dress Photography refers to a broader range of options. The term is now used for creative formal photography even though a dress does not need to be trashed and these days it’s not just wedding photography.
What to bring with you
When preparing you should want to bring a few things to make it go more smoothly. You should be prepared with such items as bug repellent, sunscreen, towels and a change of clothing. This will help make the event less challenging. There are many outdoor locations that will work very well for this process and being prepared for them will help you to relax making the process more fun and take terrific photographs.
